Report of the 2017 ILC test

The 2017 proficiency test is a test in molecular biology for the detection of Marteilia refringens and Bonamia sp. by PCR. The test included a set of 24 samples of tissues from flat oyster O. edulis.

Optionally, participants were invited to test a new multiplex PCR assay allowing the simultaneous detection of Marteilia refringens and Bonamia sp. that has been recently developed by the EURL for mollusc diseases.

The ILC test started in June 2017 and ended in September 2017. 18 laboratories participated in the proficiency test, and 17 laboratories tested the new multiplex PCR assay.

The 2017-ILC-01 report is available on the NRLS' Section / Proficiency test / Results and reports (limited access by login and password). This report only considers results regarding the competency assessment. The evaluation of the new PCR assay will be the subject of another report.
